Parting

I cannot describe the pain,
the pain of not being with you.
I wish to be by your side always,
but now,
it is a parting that lies before us,
years gone by, words unsaid, and now,
to late was I
in revealing this pain,
for my love has wondered past
the reach of my finger tips
with no way of turning back
to see my emotions
and hear my wishes no more
she is gone,
I had told her too late,
and now,
with no hope left,
she will stay, just out
of the touch of my hand
for eternity.
